Dual-Driven By Cross-Border Logistics And Overseas Services: China's Semi-Trailer Export Orders Hit A New High

Currently, China's semi-trailer export industry is achieving dual improvements in export efficiency and market competitiveness by virtue of breakthroughs in both cross-border logistics and overseas services. According to the latest industry data, from January to October 2025, the national semi-trailer export orders reached 412,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 25%, 6 percentage points higher than the same period last year. Among them, the order growth rate in Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern markets exceeded 30%, and the order structure was dominated by efficient logistics models such as van semi-trailers and refrigerated semi-trailers.

The optimization of cross-border logistics has become the core support for order delivery. Since the beginning of this year, many domestic regions have opened cross-border logistics dedicated lines for semi-trailer exports. Industrial clusters such as Liangshan in Shandong and Suizhou in Hubei have jointly launched 12 direct dedicated lines with logistics enterprises, including "Liangshan-Ho Chi Minh City" and "Suizhou-Jeddah". Adopting the "sea-land intermodal transport" mode, the transportation cycle for semi-trailer exports has been shortened from 35 days to 22 days, and the transportation cost has been reduced by 18%. At the same time, the customs has implemented a "one-stop customs clearance" service for semi-trailer exports, realizing the entire process of declaration, inspection and release online. The daily customs clearance volume has increased to more than 2,000 units, greatly improving the export circulation efficiency and ensuring the rapid delivery of overseas orders.

The upgrading of overseas service networks has also made simultaneous efforts to break through the bottleneck of after-sales service. Leading enterprises have accelerated their overseas layout. Enterprises such as CIMC Vehicles and Liangshan Huayu have added 32 new service outlets in core markets such as Vietnam, South Africa and Saudi Arabia, covering the entire industrial chain services including maintenance, spare parts supply and technical support, realizing "where exported vehicles are, services cover where". Some enterprises have also launched "overseas localized service packages", optimizing maintenance plans according to local road conditions, shortening the spare parts reserve cycle to within 3 days, and increasing customer satisfaction to 92%, which has effectively enhanced the stickiness of overseas customers.

The impressive performance on the order side has confirmed the effectiveness of the industry's transformation. Recently, a number of domestic semi-trailer enterprises have successively won large overseas orders: a leading enterprise won an order for 12,000 van semi-trailers in Southeast Asia, which will be delivered in batches through cross-border dedicated lines; another enterprise signed an order for 5,000 refrigerated semi-trailers in the Middle East, with supporting overseas service outlets providing exclusive after-sales support. Industry insiders said that the coordinated upgrading of cross-border logistics and overseas services is becoming a new advantage for China's semi-trailer exports to seize the global market. In the future, the industry will further deepen the construction of logistics channels and the layout of service networks, promoting the continuous improvement of export scale and quality.China's Semi-Trailer Exports Surge 35% YoY in 2024, Emerging Markets Become Core Growth Engine
