China's semi-trailer exports are evolving from traditional markets to global multi-point radiation. In the first three quarters of 2025, in addition to the traditional advantageous markets such as Southeast Asia and Russia maintaining a year-on-year growth of over 20%, the South American and Central and Eastern European markets have achieved leapfrog development. Semi-trailer exports to Brazil and Poland surged by 52% and 47% year-on-year respectively, mainly focusing on segmented areas such as container transportation and engineering dump trucks.
In terms of product structure, customized models adapted to the needs of different regions have become the main force of exports: heavy-duty off-road semi-trailers for mining transportation scenarios in South America, equipped with anti-rollover systems and high-strength frames, saw orders increase by 65% year-on-year; intelligent temperature-controlled refrigerated semi-trailers for the cold chain logistics market in Central and Eastern Europe, with precise temperature control technology and lightweight design, achieved a market share of over 25%. In addition, with the implementation of the EU's "Carbon Border Tax", exports of semi-trailers equipped with energy-saving devices increased by 38% year-on-year, demonstrating Chinese enterprises' rapid adaptability to international environmental policies.
Dual Upgrades of Technology and Services, Building Core Competitiveness
Technological innovation has become the "hard support" for China's semi-trailer exports. In 2025, the proportion of exported semi-trailers equipped with intelligent monitoring systems and automatic weighing equipment reached 70%, an increase of 22 percentage points compared with last year. Such models can help overseas customers reduce operating costs by 12%-15%. At the same time, lightweight technology has made further breakthroughs. Semi-trailers using new composite materials reduce weight by 2 tons per unit, and fuel efficiency is improved by 10%, which are highly favored in markets with high fuel costs such as Southeast Asia and Africa.
The improvement of the service system has become the "soft power" for export growth. Leading enterprises have successively laid out overseas service networks, establishing spare parts warehousing centers and maintenance service stations in Thailand, Russia, Mexico and other countries, shortening the after-sales response time to within 48 hours; some enterprises have also launched integrated "export + finance" solutions, cooperating with cross-border financial institutions to provide financial leasing services for overseas customers, effectively lowering the purchase threshold for customers and driving the order conversion rate up by 30%.
Industrial Synergy, Continuous Optimization of Cross-Border Ecology
The rapid growth of semi-trailer exports is inseparable from the collaborative support of the entire industrial chain. On the one hand, domestic semi-trailer manufacturers have in-depth cooperation with core component suppliers, and the localization rate of key components such as independently developed axles and suspension systems has exceeded 95%, which not only reduces production costs but also improves product quality stability; on the other hand, cross-border logistics efficiency has been significantly improved. Through logistics channels such as China-Europe Railway Express and China-Laos Railway, the transportation cycle of semi-trailer exports has been shortened by 15%-20%, and logistics costs have been reduced by 8%-10%.
Looking forward, with the continuous advancement of infrastructure projects in countries along the "Belt and Road" and the mature application of new energy semi-trailer technology, China's semi-trailer exports are expected to maintain a high growth momentum. Enterprises will further focus on the needs of segmented markets, increase R&D investment, improve global service layout, and promote the upgrading of China's semi-trailers from "product export" to "brand globalization".
