The core principle of skeleton semi-trailers is "load matching + standardized operation". Loading must strictly comply with the rated load, and the center of gravity should be centered or slightly forward to avoid tail swinging or nose lifting.
1. Load Matching: Overloading is strictly prohibited. The cargo weight shall not exceed the "maximum allowable total mass" indicated on the trailer nameplate, and the load on a single axle shall not exceed its rated bearing capacity.
2. Center of Gravity Control: The cargo's center of gravity must lie on the trailer's longitudinal axis, with a height not exceeding 2.5 meters (highway height limit). Uneven loading will cause uneven tire wear and braking deviation.
3. Connection Inspection: After each hitching, ensure the fifth wheel coupling and locking mechanism are fully locked, the air pipes and electrical connectors are securely connected, and the support legs are fully retracted.
4. Braking and Driving: Start and brake slowly to prevent cargo displacement due to sudden braking; slow down in advance when turning-since the trailer has a larger turning radius than the tractor, to avoid scraping.
5. Regular Maintenance: Check the frame welds, axle hub lubrication, and tire pressure monthly. When idle for a long time, support the trailer with legs to prevent frame deformation.
Daily Inspection Checklist for Skeleton Semi-Trailers
I. Post-Hitching Inspection (Mandatory after each connection to the tractor)
1. Fifth Wheel Coupling: Confirm the locking mechanism is fully closed; no looseness when shaking the trailer.
2. Connecting Components: Air pipes and electrical plugs are tightly inserted, with no air leakage or wire breakage.
3. Support Legs: Fully retracted, with a ground clearance ≥ 10cm; the handle is locked.
II. Pre-Driving Inspection (Daily before departure)
1. Load and Center of Gravity: Cargo weight ≤ rated total mass; center of gravity is centered, no uneven loading.
2. Tires: Normal air pressure (refer to the standard on the tire side), no bulges or cracks; bolts are tightened.
3. Braking System: When stepping on the tractor's brake, the trailer brake responds promptly without delay.
4. Frame: No cracks in welds; no deformation of crossbeams and longitudinal beams.

1. Axle Hubs: Check the grease for no leakage or deterioration.
